Life Extension

Life ExtensionEADS North America Defense Test & Services has provided Life Extensions to a range of Automated Test Equipment (ATE). The goal is to provide for the flexibility to manage obsolescence of ATE while maximizing legacy TPS re-use.

Life Extension Program Services Include:

  • Updating and Replacing Obsolete Instruments
  • Driver and CEM/Wrapper Development
  • Parts Obsolescence Management Service
  • Support for GSM 315, ADINTS, ADTS, MILSTAR, RTCASS, B1-B

Program Experience Includes:

  • GSM 315
GSM-315 (USAF) is utilizing our support for migration of 252 LRU/SRU TPSs to a modern COTS test set (Teradyne Spectrum 9000 Series). TYX PAWS software will be implemented in the migration of the TPSs to the modernized test set. We are a part of the Government IPT, on site at Hill AFB, for this effort.ADINTS

  • ADINTS (USAF Automated Depot Inertial Navigational Test Set)
We replaced the obsolete and unsupportable station controller with a TYX PAWS ATLAS Environment in order to maintain test capability and maximize TPS re-use. Over 16 ATLAS Test Programs have been re-hosted.

  • F-15 ADTS Engineering Assessment (USAF)
The F-15 Avionics Depot Test Systems were analyzed for supportability due to Obsolescence. We developed an F-15 Road Map for modernization of ADTS and DTS-70 Test Systems to meet a 25 year projected life of the F-15 Aircraft. The analysis focused on the improvement of TPS quality, improved supportability of station hardware and software, and minimimizing the impact to the existing test stations.

  • F-15 ADTS 2000
F15 ADTS 2000 has an extended life support through 2020. This was done by integrating the PAWS system onto the MTI Test Solution. To date we have integrated 28 Test Programs onto MTI ADTS solutions.

  • MILSTAR (USAF Automated Test Set)
USAF Automated Test Set based on IEEE 716 MATE ATLAS was upgraded and we replaced the obsolete MATE CPU and software. The existing Control Interface Intermediate Language (CIIL) was replaced with current technology devices. The MILSTAR test set was reconfigured with the TYX PAWS MATE ATLAS Environment to keep it modernized and running up to speed.

  • LANTIRN LIATE (USAF)
Program included a developed Test Module Adapter (TMA) that can be installed onto the AAM-82 test stations in the Digital Multifunction Unit (DMFU) and that will allow the current TPSs to run without modifications.
