Radar
Applications - Radar System Test
The ability to analyze radar performance and function
is critical for defense radar. Electronic counter-measure
(ECM) threats exist in the RF spectrum from 30KHz
to 50GHz. The defense radar must accurately determine
the threat's location and direction and defend itself
against determined ECM.
This ATE is designed to analyze radar equipment to
40GHz.
The ATE is capable of radar frequency profiling by
characterizing frequency transients in pulsed or CW
modulation (i.e., chirp), by measuring signals that
sweep up to 800MHz/s, and by analyzing carrier frequencies
of agile signals and staggered PRIs.
The signal generators test state-of-the-art radar
and EW receivers with high-fidelity pulse modulation.
The station has the capability of verifying modern
receiver and transmitter performance and can evaluate
transmitter/receiver performance against simulated
target and electronic counter- measures (ECM) and
can simulate antenna scanning and data comms.
Audio signals from 20 Hz to 100 KHz can be analyzed
for distortion, SNR and SINAD. Modulated signals from
150KHz to 1.3GHz can be characterized. The ATE handles
AM, FM, pulse and phase modulation.
Systems can be analyzed from system level down to
the slice or component level- mixers, amplifiers,
filters and IF slices.
The ATE capability can be further multiplied by configuring
the options available to the equipment.
