Electronic Warfare - System Test

The ability to test and analyze Electronic Warfare (EW) equipment performance and function is critical for the success of battlespace management and intelligence gathering.

EADS North America Defense Test & Services' general purpose EW Test System provides the capability to monitor performance of these equipments in the field as well as providing functional testing. The flexible architecture and use of open standards allows the system to adapt as the technologies or techniques employed in the EW equipments evolve.

A range of instruments can be fitted to match the performance and range of EW equipments being supported. Configurations are available for the support of both COMINT and ELINT equipment such as Receivers, DF Stations and Jammers. Additional capabilities or extensions to the existing operating performance can easily be integrated into these test systems.

To assist in deployment and in-situ test of large installations the EW Test System can be integrated into a mobile workshop shelter. This shelter provides a protective environment for both the equipment and the operator and allows the test system to be forward deployed in support of remote EW installations.

The Automatic Test Equipment (ATE) is housed in a shocked mounted rack on the forward bulkhead of the shelter. This ATE provides the prime means for functionally testing EW Units or Systems Under Test (UUTs & SUTs). UUTs can be tested within the workshop shelter on the bench space provided and connected directly to the instrumentation or larger SUTs can be tested externally to the shelter via a remote connection panel which connects power, RF, microwave and control signals to the SUT.
