EADS North America Defense Test & Services' Test & Measurement Workshop Shelter is a fully integrated test system for the field test and support of electronic equipments operated in the field by a Signals Unit. The Test & Measurement Workshop Shelter primarily supports Radio Communications equipments at frequencies in the bands of HF, VHF & UHF including; Transceivers Receivers Transmitters Power Amplifiers Radio Ancillaries EADS North America Defense Test & Services' mobile workshop shelters are support facilities that can be forward deployed close to the users reducing the repair and logistics pipeline. The Test & Measurement Shelter is a complete working environment and at its heart is EADS North America Defense Test & Services' state of the art Radio Communications Automated Test Equipment (ATE). This ATE uses high precision instrumentation controlled by the GENeric Integration Environment (GENIE). GENIE provides a concise and easy to understand Man Machine Interface (MMI) for functional and diagnostic tests applications.

EADS North America Defense Test & Services' advanced modular techniques for instrument control segments both hardware and software code functionality, allowing flexibility in the selection of instruments for the ATE. Instruments may be selected to be common with a customer's existing inventory with all standard instrument types (IEEE-STD-488 GPIB, IEEE-STD-1155 VXIbus, etc) being supported. This flexibility in instrument selection allows the Radio Communications test system to be configured to suit different deployment and support requirements including mobile workshelters, man-portable rugged systems and fixed base depot or factory configurations.
