EADS North America Appoints
Samuel D. Wyman III as
Vice President of Homeland Security Programs
Arlington,
VA , October 16, 2006 - EADS North America has
named Samuel D. Wyman III to lead the companys
development of its U.S. homeland security business
activity.
In
his position as Vice President of Homeland Security
Programs, Wyman is responsible for further evolving
EADS North Americas contribution to security
and homeland defense which already includes
the supply of helicopters, aircraft and systems to
the U.S. Coast Guard, U.S. Customs and Border Protection
and other military and federal agencies. He is based
at the companys Arlington, Virginia headquarters.
Wyman
has extensive military, government and industry experience,
including combat service as a U.S. Army helicopter
pilot, a Senior Policy Analyst in the White House
Science Office, a Deputy Office Director at the Defense
Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), along with
corporate management assignments with General Dynamics,
BEI Defense Systems and the Harris Corporation.
Sam
Wyman brings a unique perspective to EADS North America.

Prior
to joining the company, Wyman was a member of The
Spectrum Group, where he was involved in the consulting
firms strategic planning and positioning, merger
and acquisition support, marketing and business development
and technology road mapping.
Wymans
other industry management positions included the President
of Harris Corporations Microwave Communications
Division, Vice President of Systems for BEI Defense
Systems, and Executive Director of the Defense Diamond
Development Company a startup joint venture
of General Dynamics and the Norton Company.
In
government service, he was a Deputy Office Director
in the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency,
as well as a Special Assistant to the Director. Wyman
also was a senior policy analyst in the White House
Science Office, where he was involved in developing
policies for telecommunications, conventional force
enhancement, critical technology transfer and aeronautics.
While
in the U.S. Army, Wyman flew as a combat helicopter
pilot in Vietnam; served as a research officer with
NASA; and was the Research and Development Coordinator,
then Assistant Program Manager (International) for
the Apache AH-64 attack helicopter. He also had other
command and staff assignments in NATO, and with the
U.S. Army in Europe and the United States.
