EADS North America Defense Test & Services (formerly Racal Instruments) has designed, developed & integrated Test Program Sets (TPS) for the UK Royal Navy's Sea King Airborne Early Warning variant Mk7 helicopter. This solution is based around the Merlin Automatic Test System (MATS) developed to support the Merlin anti- submarine helicopter. In addition to the development of necessary extensions to the MATS ATE resources necessary to allow it to test a modern high technology radar system, Racal developed the TPSs for electronic Line Replaceable Units (LRUs) from the Searchwater radar system.
